Why do ecommerce refunds take 10–15 days?
A refund passes through five stages — approval, return shipping, inspection, initiation and bank processing. Here's where the 10–15 days actually go.
A refund isn't a single step — it's a chain of about five stages, and the slowest link usually isn't the store. It's the banking system. Here's exactly where those 10–15 days go.
Every refund travels through five stages before the money reaches you.
Business days are not calendar days
10–15 business days is roughly 3 calendar weeks. Weekends and public holidays don't count, so a refund approved on a Thursday can easily "lose" 4 days before the bank even starts.
Banks process refunds in batches — not instantly.
Why banks take so long
- Batch settlements: banks and card networks settle transactions in batches, usually once a day — miss the batch and you wait another cycle.
- Multiple hops: your money passes from our payment provider → the card network or bank → your bank → your account. Each hop adds verification time.
- Fraud checks: refunds trigger the same anti-fraud screening as payments.
- JazzCash / Easypaisa / bank transfer: mobile wallets are usually faster (2–5 business days); card refunds are the slowest because of the network in the middle.
Store credit vs. refund to your original payment method
Store credit is instant — it's issued inside our own system, so there's no bank involved. That's why it's our standard refund method: you can shop again the same day.
A refund to your original payment method has to travel the full five-stage journey above — that's where the 10–15 business days come from.
What slows a refund down
- Wrong or incomplete bank / JazzCash / Easypaisa details — we have to chase you for corrections.
- A missing unboxing video on a damage claim — the claim goes back for re-verification.
- Public holidays and long weekends landing in the middle of bank processing.
- Asking for the refund to a different account than the one you paid from — this triggers extra verification.
Fastest path to your money: take store credit if you shop with us again — it's instant. If you need it back in your bank, double-check your account details when you file the claim.
Q: Is my refund stuck, or is this normal?
If it's been under 15 business days since approval, it's almost certainly normal — the bank stage alone takes 5–10 business days. Use the refund tracker tool to see which stage you're in.
Q: Why is store credit instant but a bank refund slow?
Store credit lives inside our own system, so no bank is involved. A bank refund has to pass through payment providers, card networks and fraud checks — each adding days.
Q: Do weekends count in the 10–15 days?
No. Only business days count — Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. 15 business days is about 3 full calendar weeks.
Q: My 15 business days are over and there's still no refund. Now what?
Check your bank statement first — card refunds sometimes appear under a different description. If it's genuinely missing, message us via {whatsapp:Assalam-o-Alaikum! My refund is overdue. My order number is: ___, please help me trace it.} with your order number and we'll trace it with the payment provider.
Q: Can I get a refund without sending the product back?
Only in rare cases — for example a confirmed wrong item where we tell you to keep it. Normally the product must reach our warehouse and pass inspection first.
